It was a cold and snowy day in Corvallis — and I found a bunch of robins and starlings taking turns eating (fermented?) apples. They didn’t seem to mind me so much. I think they were just happy to have found some food.
Spent two weeks teaching a class in data management at the Guangxi Medical University (Nanning CN). Of course I brought a couple of cameras to capture a few images.
Found these butterflies on the campus of Guangxi Medical School (Nanning, CN), December 2016.

Saw a nice view of the distant Yaquina Head Lighthouse from South Jetty Road in Newport.

Saw great views of Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier on Air Canada 8125 from Vancouver to Portland.
Attended a stellar concert at the Guangxi Art University, performed by my colleagues (and new friends): Dr. Michelle Rahn (University of Oregon), Dr. Chris Whyte (Western Oregon Univ.) and Paul Owen (Western Oregon University). (I accompanied them on a visit to Nanning where I taught a course on Data Management at Guangxi Medical University.)
