Birds eating apples on a cold and snowy day in Corvallis
It was a cold and snowy day in Corvallis — and I found a bunch of robins and starlings taking turns eating (fermented?) apples. They didn’t seem to mind me so much. I think they were just happy to have found some food.

Concert at Guangxi Art University
Attended a stellar concert at the Guangxi Art University, performed by my colleagues (and new friends): Dr. Michelle Rahn (University of Oregon), Dr. Chris Whyte (Western Oregon Univ.) and Paul Owen (Western Oregon University). (I accompanied them on a visit to Nanning where I taught a course on Data Management at Guangxi Medical University.)
